It’s a Dead, Dead, Dead World

George Romero, responsible for the Night, Dawn, and Day of the Dead movies, is reportedly set to shoot a new installment in the rotting series. Land of the Dead, which sounds eerily similar to the comic series Deadworld, tells the story of a group of survivors holed up in a zombie-free fort-city.

I predict the movie features a last-ditch war between zombies and humans involving Road Warrior-style cars and/or jury-rigged siege machines.

CNN reports that this latest installment, entitled "Return of the Living Dead 4: Necropolis," is being shot, in part, in Chernobyl. If we're lucky, the location's radiation might produce some actual zombies!

I thought his fourth movie was "Land of the Dead", which is being shot in Toronto.

The CNN report indicated otherwise, but according to the IMDB, the title is "Land of the Dead."

The Guardian Unlimited also supports the CNN story (which appears to be a dead link at this point).

I did a film permit last week for them to shoot here at my work, and they're all calling it "Land of the Dead". And that's what it says on all their business cards and cheques...
They set a car on fire in our underground parking garage... it was cool...

A friend sent me some photos of a really-cool looking armoured tractor trailer that was parked near his house while they were filming in his area. I think it could be a really cool movie. Especially since Romero will make his zombies walk, not run.
